Convert presets between grandMA2 and grandMA3 showfiles bidirectionally using XML import and export.

  • Convert Presets Between Modes: Seamlessly translate presets between grandMA2 (Mode 2) and grandMA3 (Mode 3) to maintain flexibility across different console setups.

  • Share Presets on Festivals: Share positions and other presets between operators using different modes - ideal for festivals where the house LD focuses in one mode and guest LDs work in the other.
  1. Export Presets from Showfile:
    • For fast and easy transfer, select a USB drive before exporting.
    • Use the “Export Preset (number)” command or the grandMA3 Settings > Show Creator > Export to export the presets as XML.
      Multiple objects within one XML is possible.
  2. Load Preset XML:
    • Use Import XML File to import data from the exported grandMA Preset file (.xml).
  3. Check Data:
    • Check the list of found presets and make sure the data is correct.
  4. Export:
    • For manual import: Export the generated macros to a grandMA2 or grandMA3 folder.
    • Start automatic import: Send the macros directly to the console.
      Select the first preset ID on the console (a popup window will appear).
  • Preset: Displays the found preset name.
  • Fixtures: Indicates the number of fixtures in the preset.
  • Attributes: Shows the number of attributes used in the preset.
  • Arrow Icon: Click to view detailed information about the preset.
